HT Merge Utility for BassBox 6 Pro and X•over 3 Pro

Licensed users of BassBox 6 Pro and/or X•over 3 Pro can download a free utility that enables them to merge changes they have made to a previous copy of the HT driver database to a new update copy. The 'source' HT driver database can be either a BassBox 5.1 version or a BassBox 6 Pro/X•over 3 Pro version. The 'destination' database can only be a BassBox 6 Pro/X•over 3 Pro version.

There has been some confustion about the purpose of HT Merge. Most BassBox 6 Pro and X•over 3 Pro users will never need to use it. It is not required to install a driver database update. The database updater is self-contained and will handle the installation of the new database. HT Merge is only needed when you have made changes to your old copy of the driver database (you have added your own drivers or you have edited exiting drivers) and you want to copy or 'merge' those changes into the new driver database so they won't be lost. The time to run HT Merge is immediately after you have installed a driver database update. If you haven't made changes to your old copy of the driver database, then there is no reason to use HT Merge.
The 1.0.9 version of HT Merge was created to address compatibility issues with Windows 8, 7 and Vista. It has the same features as version 1.0.8 and there is no reason to upgrade to it if you are using Windows XP or an earlier version of Windows. Version 1.0.9 is also compatible with older versions of Windows.
HT Merge requires that either BassBox Pro or X•over Pro be already installed on the computer.
Download & Installation Instructions
HT Merge does not include an installer. It is compressed in a self-extracting file that must be saved to the same folder where BassBox 6 Pro and/or X•over 3 Pro are stored. Then it must be run from there to extract and expand the compressed files within it. Before using HT Merge, BassBox 6 Pro or X•over 3 Pro must already be installed on your computer. Here are the installation instructions:
- Download file 'htmerge.exe' by clicking on the 'DOWNLOAD' button in the right column of this webpage and click on the 'Save' button of the File Download dialog. Set the 'Save in' location to the same folder on your hard drive where BassBox 6 Pro and/or X•over 3 Pro are stored. If the default settings were used when you installed BassBox Pro and/or X•over Pro, the location should be 'c:Program FilesHT Audio'. Important: Do not click on the 'Run' button of the File Download dialog until after the file has been saved to your hard drive. This is because the files within it cannot be extracted over the internet. It must be done from your computer.
- After file htmerge.exe has been successfully saved to your computer it is now okay to click on the 'Run' button of the File Download dialog. Before doing so, make sure that HT Merge is not running and its on-screen manual is not open. Then click on the 'Run' button to extract the files inside htmerge.exe. When asked for a destination folder, use the same location where you saved htmerge.exe in Step 1 above (the folder where BassBox 6 Pro and/or X•over 3 Pro are stored). Three files should be extracted: HT Merge.exe, HTMerge.chm and Readme.txt. Allow the new files to replace any existing ones if you are prompted to do so. Notes: If you don't want to extract the files right away, you can double-click on the htmerge.exe file later. If your computer is not configured to show file name extensions, then the three files may appear as 'HT Merge', 'HTMerge' and 'Readme'.
- Read the Readme.txt file for last-minute instructions and notes regarding the operation of HT Merge.
To use HT Merge, run the program 'HT Merge.exe' (it may appear simply as 'HT Merge' if your computer is not configured to show file name extensions). One way to do this is to select 'Run' from the 'Start' menu and enter the location + file name. For example, enter 'c:Program FilesHT AudioHT Merge.exe'. On-screen instructions are available by clicking on the 'Help' button or by pressing the F1 key.
